The Arctic Cat Prowler is the perfect vehicle for those who love to travel the rough terrains. A stylish and spacious vehicle, the Arctic Cat Prowler is an all terrain vehicle that is just perfect for a rough adventure. Though the prowler is a pretty cool vehicle, it does need proper care and maintenance; especially when it comes to the engine and brakes.
If you have just bought the prowler and are planning to use it excessively, here are a few maintenance tips you need to know.
1. Inspect the Parts Frequently
You should frequently check the axles or suspension parts of the prowler regularly. Once or twice in a week is ideal. These parts are used excessively which is why they are prone to be frictional. To avoid excessive friction, you must always make sure the parts are oiled well with the bolts and screws well tightened. Have a mechanic do it once, observe them and later do the inspection yourself.
2. Keep Tire Pressure Balanced
Most people ignore the most important part of the vehicle; the tires. Before going on a ride, check the tire pressures and make sure they are balanced. Unbalanced tire pressures could lead to accidents. Be very careful in this matter.
3. Keep a Check on the Air Filter
The air filter accumulates dirt excessively. Not checking or having it cleaned would cause the engine to malfunction and your prowler might suffer from serious repercussions. Make sure you check the air filter after every 100 mile. The air filter must be clean and no dust should be accumulated on it.
4. Take Care of the Batteries
All terrain vehicles usually come with two types of batteries; conventional and absorbed mat glass batteries. Avoid letting your battery drain un-necessarily. Keep brake lights switched off and clean the battery after every two months with a wire brush. Take care in charging the battery. Don’t do it too much, don’t do it too less. Traditionally, prowler batteries should be charged after a month.
5. Have A Mechanic Inspect Your Vehicle
Even if you take all the precautions in maintaining your vehicle, it will be more beneficial if you take the vehicle to a mechanic once a month. A professional inspection would be much more helpful in maintaining your vehicle.
